Great Overall Experience
by KimEverhart
I had a destination wedding in Charleston in May and was very nervous about going to a salon I had never visited for my wedding day hair, makeup, and nails. After doing some research I decided on Whispers and brought my entire wedding party with me. Although the salon is small in size, they were able to accomodate us with ease and were very friendly in the process. The girls at the front desk are AWESOME, Oliver is a master stylist, and Kelly (the lone nail technician) is very thorough and also a real sweet heart! All of my bridesmaids and I looked fantastic all day--even in the Charleston humidity. I highly recommend Whispers for your wedding day if you value high quality service without pretension.
- Pros: Very Accomodating, Skilled in trade
- Cons: None that I could see.
VERY highly recommended!

On a spur-of-the-moment decision to cut my hair, I made an appointment at Whispers. DEFINITELY one of my better decisions. A friend recommended the place to me, and now I recommend it to you! Everyone was very friendly, there were available snacks and drinks, and, best of all, my hair looks the best it has in years. DeRon did a marvelous job!
- Pros: relaxed atmosphere, great stylists, overall good experience
- Cons: on-street parking
Bad

Not a good experience. I felt as though my stylist was inexperienced; left color in my hair for too long and it turned orange. Very slow service. Overpriced. Not very up-to-date with current hair products. Go somewhere else...
- Pros: Now I know where NOT to go.
- Cons: Waste of time and bad experience.
Best Salon in Charleston! My stylist Sabriam is the BEST!!!!

I found it ladies and gentleman!! A salon that is warm and inviting, great receptionist (I walked in and she immediatly set the tone, greeting me warmly, getting me settled with a drink and I never waited longer than 5 minutes before bieng taken in to my stylist). Everyone is friendly there and very talented; my stylist is Sabriam. She is so friendly, talented and when you know you want to look good but don't exactly have a clear picture in mind, she has some great ideas! (by the way, when you're getting you're hair washed she gives you a scalp massage. it's amazing.) When I went to her the first time I had not had a hair cut in almost 6 months. I had moved from RI and not found anyone I felt comfortable with yet. I actually was recommended to Whispers by my Mom who's stylist is Oliver(he does great color!!!) I think Sabriam cut 2 heads of hair off the first time and I still had medium length hair!! I have thick red hair that grows fast and its very difficult to find a style that looks good, is easy for me to style and the cut itself lasts longer than 2-3 weeks. Sabriam managed all that and I've never had a better hair cut. It falls perfectly every time. I don't even need to blowdry it if I don't want to. I feel like a million dollars every time I leave the salon!!
Unfortunately I had to move and won't be able to go to Sabriam and Whispers on Wentworth anymore :( I enjoyed Charleston, it's a charming city and I met some wonderful people but I found a great hair stylist and that is worth its weight in gold!! Ladies, you know what I'm talking about!!!! I will truly miss Sabriam and so will my hair. I definetly recommend Whispers on Wentworth and Sabriam specifically to anyone looking in the Charleston area for a great hair salon!
- Pros: great stylists, warm and inviting atmosphere, looking fabulous when leaving!!!
- Cons: parking is either street parking or public garage 2 stores down the block
Great all-around service!!

I moved to Charleston in the spring and needed to find a local salon, I had been with my previous stylist for several years. So I went to the internet and did some research and found Whispers on Wentworth. The minute I walked in, Denise greeted me very warmly and I felt at ease. I hadn't requested a specific stylist so I got whomever was available...which I think fate took over. I met Sabriam who was incredible. She was so friendly and knew what she wanted to do and got to work. The end result was awesome! The best color job I've ever had (and I've been highlighting my hair since high school) and a great cut that I got tons of compliments on. Since then I've been to see her several times and each time I come out loving it more than the last cut...it was summer and if y'all know Charleston heat, you know you need short hair to survive it, at least if you have thick hair like mine. My parents came down to visit me and my mom got her hair done by Sabriam as well and loved it. The entire atmosphere there is so friendly and you really get the feeling that you fit in with them. I would recommend Whispers on Wentworth and Sabriam to anyone!!
- Pros: Everything!!
- Cons: Wish I could have Sabriam do my hair every morning
