Great Hotel BUT...

It's a great hotel but if any of you are looking to save some $$ then book it at referer.us/8/GoodHotelDeals They usually have some pretty good deals on there!
Pretty Nice
by panera_addict
My aunt, brother, and I were in Charleston for a 2-day visit, and we booked reservations at the Harbour View Inn. Immediately we were impressed with the nice service. A well-mannered employee parked our car in the garage for us while another kind sir held the door open as we stepped into the first floor. The lobby was nice, and so were our rooms. Comfortable beds and nice furniture filled the large rooms, and we received many complimentary items, such as bottled water, chocolates, shower caps, bath grains, and mouthwash. Also, we filled out breakfast menu cards and were served breakfast on the terrace (which, by the way, gives you a breathtaking view of the ocean). Service couldn't have been better. After a long day of tourism, we came back to our rooms to find neatly made beds and clean bathrooms. There WERE a few cons, though. It's kind of pricey to stay at this hotel, and the building is beginning to show its age. I spotted cracked/peeling wallpaper near the ceiling. Not a big deal, but - I don't know - it might bother some people.
- Pros: nice, great service, lovely view from the terrace
- Cons: pricey and kind of old
A nautical heritage and subtle, British influences shape this waterfront hotel.

The Scene
Simple can either be stark or strikingly elegant--in the case of this hotel, it's the latter. This stately brick building is well-located overlooking a pretty fountain plaza, and as its name suggests, it offers great views of the harbor. Clientele ranges from couples escaping for a romantic weekend (Valentine's Day is popular) to business travelers looking for an alternative to corporate fare.
The Details
From dawn `til dusk, every aspect of your stay has been taken into account. The signature Silver Service Portside Breakfast can be brought to your room or taken on the rooftop terrace or in the atrium lobby. Snacks and iced tea are served all day, wine and cheese highlight the afternoons, and milk and fresh-baked cookies top off the evenings. While all of the rooms are pretty, the Historic Inn Rooms are particularly notable. They are in a wing dating back to the 1800s and feature brick walls, plantation shutters and whirlpool tubs. Penthouse Rooms have working fireplaces and private balconies with views of the harbor and Waterfront Park. The hotel is within walking distance to the city market and antique row.
