My boyfriend and I ate here on our first night in Charleston without a recommendation... we were just walking down King Street and decided to check it out. From the painted windows outside, I expected it to be a greasy, fried-seafood place. Upon entering, we were surprised by a more upscale restaurant. It was pretty early (6:30 or so), and we didn't have to wait. The menu is varied: seafood, southern favorites, plus a few Greek dishes. My boyfriend had the shrimp and grits, which was really good. It was a HUGE bowl of grits, melted cheese, bacon bits and shrimp. There is no way an average person could possibly eat the whole serving! I had a vegetarian platter - I can't remember what it was called. It was a fluffy pita covered with spiced, steamed vegetables and a creamy Greek sauce. In addition, you get a choice of starch (I had rice). All of the entrees come with a cup of soup (we had a hearty chicken and rice) and a small greek salad. We enjoyed our visit to Olde Towne. The food was great and fairly inexpensive (our entrees were under $15) and the waitstaff was friendly and attentive.
