I always hunt down italian restaurants whenever I'm out of town, but this was just disappointing. The red sauce was very bland, which unfortunately was on both of the entrees we got. The food wasn't terrible, it just wasn't worth the money or the wait.

Pros: ambiance is nice in cooler weather

Cons: food not outstanding for the money

Ate here on vacation recently and was very excited to find a nice Italian restaurant downtown (they're few and far between). The restaurant is small but beautiful - very charming and rustic feel to it (though I agree with a previous review that the wooden chairs are not too comfy). The red wine was very nice and the bread appetizer was delicious. My boyfriend ordered the chicken parmigiana which was excellent ( and an enormous portion) and I had the Bocci's calzone - not the best I've ever had but still tasty. There were a number of much fancier items on the menu but we went the simpler route to be safe. If I offered any advice, it would be to go more in the direction of pasta and meat instead of the calzones, pizza, etc. - I don't believe their focus is on the latter. Overall, I'd recommend it, the food was good and the atmosphere was great.

Pros: Big portions, charming atmosphere, great menu variety

Cons: Pizza/calzone not their forte, uncomfortable seating

Great food and great atmosphere. The rooms are cozy and intimate while the food is authentic and served piping hot. The only downside is the small, uncomfortable wooden chairs.

Pros: Nice for dates, good menu, good prices

Cons: Not accessible

My husband and I ate here after a day of shopping and walking. It was really attractive from the steet...there are three sets of double doors that open into the main dining area. We were seated on the upper level, further from the street. The ambiance was wonderful, great for couples. The service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive, but left us to enjoy our food and have a conversation without being interrupted. The food was excellent. My husband ordered a chicken manicotti dish and I ordered the small baked ziti. Both were amazing. We also ordered a bottle of wine, and the server was not pushy while we took our time finishing it after dinner. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Pros: Great food, Excellent service

Cons: Limited parking

My husband ordered the manicotti stuffed with chicken and i ordered a basic penne with vegetables and tomato based sauce (which i have to add was not on the menu, i had to ask for them to make it specially..so if you are veggie..stay away from here because my food sucked!!) Our food had no flavor whatsoever, mine was a watered down tomato sauce with some boiled veggies in it and the manicotti had a bad chicken odor to it. The waitress only took my meal off our check. Personally they should have taken off all the food and let us just pay for our drinks. Being that i live here in Charleston and come into a lot of tourists through my job - I will never return here and will let everyone i come into contact with that this place is truly awful!!

Pros: Service

Cons: Food, Bar area is small, seating is cramped

Found this restaurant on citysearch, and couldn't have been happier! I can't say enough about the food here. Every bite is better than the last - from appetizers through dessert, you will not be disappointed. Prices are extremely reasonable (especially after the first bite!) and the staff is friendly, curteous, helpful and fast! Great atmosphere for large groups or a romantic dinner for two.

Pros: Food, Service, Food

Cons: parking

i have grown up going to this restaurant and having eaten italian food from many authentic italian homes and restaurants, i have to say that this is my favorite place for italian. the service is very good, but it is a popular rest. in town and is not for large parties due to seating arrangements. i always go here to have a nice meal and great wine as a couple. Their specials are wonderful with authentic taste. The food does take awhile, but only because is prepared properly. Definitely worth it. I have actually seen real italians dining here more than once.

Pros: great food, good wine choices, good service

Bocci's was an unexpected delight. The atmosphere was warm and friendly, the ambiance romantic, the service quick and efficient, and the food was absolutely wonderful. The decor gave you the impresssion that you were actually sitting in a quaint little out of the way place in Italy. Definitely worth the trip!

Pros: Cozy, Unhurried

Cons: Limited Parking
