Sushi wasn't bad. Service was okay, although we saw many college waiters serving drinks to their underaged classmates. Actually, the whole staff acted pretty juvenille, the hostess being the one exception. The biggest turnoff is the dining area. If you look up while swallowing a piece of tuna, you will notice the huge lights that adorn the ceiling in anticipation of the nights' upcoming activities (this place turns into a club late night). It's not a place for a quiet, classy meal. My friends and I feel lucky we experienced Wasabi, so that we will venture elsewhere. Great place for college kids, not for us older folks.

Pros: Parking garage across the street

Cons: Overpriced, immature waitstaff, dining room

Wasabi had great food. I think the service was good. The restaurant has a great ambiance, very lively. Fun place to go have a few drinks, slam a few pieces of Sushi, and down some good Saki with quail eggs. I feel comfortable recommending this place to my friends.

Pros: great food, great service, great staff

Cons: none

Wasabi used to be me and my girlfriend's favorite place. We were very disappointed however on multiple occasions with the service. Nearly every part of our dinner was wrong.. entree before appetizer , salad and soup: no sauces for appetizer The real trouble was the lack of care given by the owner. After letting him know we had poor service before, and that the quality and service of food was poor tonight, he didn't even come by to check on if things were changed. We spent an hour and a half waiting with mistakes and what do we get out of it? Not even an offered discount or to take the cold appetizer off our bill. He actually insulted me by saying I had been in there complaining about food multiple times beforehand- This is the furthest possible thing from the truth. I have bitten my tongue in the past. In the restaurant industry, an owner should actually care about the customer and try to offer a quality meal with fast and friendly service. This ower did not give any care whatsoever. He even said.. if you had bad service before, why did you come back? In all honesty folks, you shouldn't go to an establishment that has such blatant disregard to its clients. The food is good.. but we won't be returning because we know the owner clearly doesn't care about anything he's offering as a business. He only cares about his profit. You should head to restaurants that try to please the customers and take care to offer quality in every aspect. Granted it was a busy night and St Pattys... but that isnt really an excuse. Especially when they had one "new" waitress covering an entire room. Proper management would overstaff and send extras home before being understaffed. The management seemed content with making sure the beer is green and not keeping the customers happy. Sorry if it seems like ranting, but its a factual experience that I wouldn't want to see repeated. Please don't let this owner become even more pompous than he is... head over to Tsunami.

Pros: Food when it comes out properly.

Cons: Extremely Poor management, ownership and Service

Wasabi was great fun. The chef made a rice wang and it was hilarious. It was the funniest thing ever. The food was really good too. I have never laughed so hard at rice in my life. I would highly recommend it for the entertainment value alone and the food is an extra bonus. Seating was fast and the service was good. I'm so drunk I can't taste this chicken, but I had the shrimp and steak so it didn't matter any way. Our chef knows who he is, you the man, you rocked out with your rice wang out.

Pros: Rice Wang

Cons: None

After wandering around Charleston in search of a light, affordable meal, we finally found Wasabi. We just didn't feel like a $17 plate of grits and shrimp. They offer 2 different types of udon, though we couldn't tell the reason for the $4 price difference. Both were served with tempura which was lightly battered. The red bean ice cream was fantastic! Wasabi's atmosphere is lively and the service is terrific.

Pros: udon, price, atmosphere
