Yummy - economy has made it easy to get in by Sean E. at InsiderPages

Had previously tried to get weekend evening reservations a few days in advance on three occasions, but nothing was available. This past weekend, we were downtown and decided to call up and try again (same night) and to our shock, they had plenty of openings.
All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The owner of Cypress also owns the famous Magnolia and Blossoms. We have not eaten at Magnolia, but two of us had been to Blossoms before and much preferred Cypress.
Cypress has their standard menu (classics) and their seasonal menu. We had raw oysters, with rare Ahi cubes topped with wasabi glaze. The butternut squash soup was outstanding as was the banana cream pie and molten chocolate cake.
Main courses were all devoured, with little talk and no complaints. We expected a delicious mean and were not disappointed.
The decor was upscale, I recommend a sports jacket, but it is certainly not required. The ceiling lights act as mood lighting and gradually change colors. They have a well-stocked wine cooler.
Definitely will go back.

Highly recommend. We had a waitress by the name of JoAnn and she was outstanding (I would even request her when I go back!). The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was incredible. I will definately be making a trip back here!!!!
- Pros: Complimentary parking, Ambience, Perfect Service, Fabulous Food.
- Cons: I can't think of any! Other than too many things I wanted to try.
Cypress is a great restaurant!

Cypress was one of the best restaurants my husband and I have enjoyed in a long time! The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was great! Even though we were only passing through Charleston on our way from Florida back home to Pennsylvania, we would be very tempted to come back to Charleston to eat at the Cypress again.
good food but bring your pocketbook

overall the food is great and the atmosphere is awesome. With a wine selection that is truly something that will amaze you. However, the food is a little expensive, but Worth it. Dinner for 2 without drinks is approx. $60. However, this figure can be lower or even higher based on your choice. I will recommend it to everyone though. Foods Great!
