Shady Operation. Quoted one price with a one year warranty and another for two years. Agreed to the two year warranty. Called back two days later and was told can't change because a different level of work is done on the two year transmission. It is rebuilt to higher standards so it lasts longer! Sounded shady. So called the Summerville shop and asked a theoretical question regarding a transmission repair and the one or two year warranty. I was told that they I could go with the one year and if I changed my mind in 30 days I could buy the two year! So they don't have a difference in rebuilding. The job took over two weeks and the wheel bearing was destroyed which led to another $400 repair. Stay away!

Watch your wallet with this bunch. Had no forward gears and no reverse working. Cost me $400 to learn that the transmission needed a $2500 rebuild. CASH ONLY. Asked for them not to re-assemble as a rebuilt online is $650. Vehicle is worth less than $2500. Made me pay them to have it tranny re-assembled. Go to the national tranny chain. It's right down the street.

Great Customer Service. We have a 2001 Volvo S80 and took it to a different transmission shop (Wife made me not put a name) that worked on the transmission three times and rang up a huge bill..... each time they had it for over two weeks. We were ready to just take a beating on a trade in when my wife convinced me to pull into Transmission Clinics. I met John Prine (the owner) and knew we were in good hands. He didn't talk bad about the other guys - he just convinced me he would do the best he could. Boy did he - TWO HOURS LATER - I received a call telling me to come get my car. I thought it was too fast and just knew in my gut it was to tell me they couldn't fix it and I would have more money out of pocket. JUST THE OPPOSITE. He said it was a computer wiring issue and they felt they had resolved it.

This was two weeks ago and No problems since. The best part about the whole thing? Their fee was virtually nothing in comparison to the hell I had been thru.
