Came to house on time and fixed my TV. No complaints.
Worst, rudest tech ever! My 1 1/2 yr
old 42 in Samsung TV was under an extended warranty plan. Since the company they recommended could not come for several days, I asked if they could send someone else sooner. They stated that they could send Protronics but that they did not have a good customer satisfaction rating so they really did not want to. I requested Protronics. How bad could they be? They were scheduled to come to my home on Monday 6/25. On Monday they called and said they could not come until Tuesday. I agreed.
On 6/25, the tech, Jason, came in to my home and seemed pleasant. He looked at the TV and said that it would have be fixed in their shop which is about 90 miles from my home and that it might take a week or longer before they could have it back to me.
My warranty said nothing about in store service I told Jason that I needed to call the warranty company and see if I had another option or if it was best to let him take it. Several times I told him that I was not upset with him and none of this was his fault that I was just upset that the TV was not even 2 years old and it was already needing such a huge repair. Jason said, "You can call whoever you want, but I have to go. I have other customers. I almost thought I heard him wrong because I didn't understand why he was not willing for me to make a phone call to verify that it was ok for the TV to be serviced off site. After all, I didn't know Protronics, I had been told their rating was low by the warranty company and I began to fear that I might be without the TV for much longer than a week. I told Jason that I felt he was treating me poorly and that I felt it was unreasonable that he would not wait five minutes for me to make a phone call. Jason said, you can call but they will jack you around for 45 minutes and tell you if I say I have to take it to let me take it, so tell me to take it or I have to go because I have other customers to see.
Again, I was so shocked at his tone that I almost didn't know what to think. I said, Jason, I don't know why you are talking to me so mean. I am just a customer with a problem and I don't deserve this. He mumbled something and said, I have to go to my truck. At that point, I told him to go ahead and leave my house. He said, Fine! and stormed out.
I called Protronics management, Derek, and stated that I had just had their tech leave my house and had a bad experience and felt that they would want to know. In a very calm manner I started explaining what happened and the rude tone that Jason had taken with me. Derek said that Jason should not have used those words, but that he would have told me the same thing. I could not believe my ears! I asked him why they would not be willing to wait five minutes for a customer to make a phone call just to check with the person paying the bill about the proper procedure. He said because they have other customers to get to.
I told him I understand now why Jason has the horrible attitude and treats customers so rudely. With a boss that condones it and would do the same thing, he has learned that it is acceptable behavior.
I told the Derek that I was going to complain to the warranty company and to the BBB. The manager laughed and said, "That's fine mam, you have too much time on your hands." I guess I do because I always have five minutes or more to be kind to another human being. I also have enough time to write this so that some other consumer does not have to have Jason or other Protronics employees come in to their homes and be treated like dirt. I still cannot believe how sour and mean he was. I called the warranty company, (it took 5 minutes) and have A&E scheduled to come out on Thursday. The warranty company told me that they may ask to take the TV and if they do it is ok for me to let them. That is ALL I wanted to verify.

Protronics performed warranty work (total replacement of my LED screen) on my LG television. Derek and his staff were a pleasure to work with ! As I live nearly 2 hrs. from their business, pick and and delivery of the TV could have made this a logistical nightmare. It turned out to be just the opposite.
Derek and his staff communicated with me (often) in a professional manner, made the process easy, and did the work right the first time.
I highly recommend this business to anyone who needs their TV serviced.

--I have used them in the past to work on a Pioneer receiver and 3 different VCR's through the 20+ years that I have lived in Mt. Pleasant. None of the VCR's were ever repaired and was told that they couldn't get parts or that they were not worth fixing. One which was less than a year old. The Pioneer had to go to them 2 times for the same problem in less than 2 hours having it back. I entered in the shop this past week with some simple questions about where to purchase some cleaning spray for the pots on an old stereo and some lubrication spray for an old turntable. The guy was very cold and told me to go to Radio Shack and that he couldn't bother is technician to ask him what I should use. I told him I didn't appreciate they way he treated me especially being a paying customer in the past. He then said he had phone calls to make. I told him he needed to make the phone calls and get all the customers he could get because he just lost one. I WILL NEVER PAY THEM TO WORK ON ANYTHING OF MINE AGAIN! SOME "BIBLICAL BUSINESS PRINCIPLES"...and I am a business owner...I wouldn't have any customers if I treated them this way.
Friendly and Helpful.
I had been to several other locations in the Charleston area to try and get help with my plasma TV. I originally had bought it at Best Buy and went through quite a bit of trouble trying to get any help from them.
Protronics gave me a reasonable estimate for a repair and quickly had it to me so I could get back to watching some college baseball.
I highly recommend them.
Great Service and Fast Turnaround Time!. Great service! I was relieved after some of the reviews I had read to have such a pleasant experience with this business. I don't know what these are people are talking about, but I thought the customer service was fine. I was very pleased to be helped by Derek, the actual owner of the business and the turnaround time on my tv being fixed was much faster than I had expected for such a small business. I would definitely recommend this company to others who have a problem with their tvs or other electronics!
The worst customer service EVER!!!.
I have never dealt with a more unprofessional company in my life! The staff was utterly rude and unfriendly. I will NEVER spend any of my hard earned money at this establishment and I look forward to telling everyone in town about my absolutely ridiculous experience with them - completely ABSURD!! They would be wise to remember that they are not the only ones in this area who can fix a TV. Perhaps a lesson in customer service would do them well.
P.S. The only reason I gave them a one star rating is because on this program they make you give at least one star. In truth, they deserve 0 stars!!
Efficient, Freindly and Profesional. We had a Power Board go bad on a TV just before its warranty expired. Derek, Jared, Butch, the fellow who unloaded the TV from my car...everyone we had contact was professional and worked hard getting us to the right people for free replacement parts. (They could have fixed it w/o doing that b/c we gave them permission. We thought the TV warranty had expired.) When the TV manufacturer was unable to produce the part (back ordered,) Protronics TV offered to help us ship the TV and even offered to accept the new replacement TV for us b/c we will be going to be gone for several weeks. I returned to them b/c many years ago they gave us wonderful service on a small kitchen TV. It is apparent they continue to be on top of things with the new generation TVs!! Don't go anywhere else!!! mvt
Poor customer serv ice skills. 1st and last time
Poor Service. Slow, very hard to get waited on in store, much more interested in talking on the phone. Didn't call with estimate as promised, I had to call them after 5 weeks. Went to pick up product and said it wasn't ready. Went back to pick it up and they had thrown it away-only three days after I tried to pick it up!
