This place is not too clean and I think has fleas but they are good if you need last minute grooming.
Animal Cruelty. We had taken our dog to Grooming Designers before and they did a fine job of clipping him for the summer. This time they kept him in a cage for 8 hours with no potty break and no water and then put him on the clipping table. Needless to say, he was traumatized by the way he was treated. And the clip job was the worst ever. A butcher job. I would NEVER recommend them. And - I won't take him there ever again!
Excellent Groomer's. If your from out of town and don't have all your paperwork, they will still groom your pet. Very gentle and kind with all the animals. My dog left calm and well groomed. I've used them before and continue to go back. I have never experienced a problem. They may not have your fancy downtown establishment but they know what they are doing and are very courteous.
Use as last resort!!.
We do not recommend Grooming Designers & East Cooper Pet Motel for the place to take your dog. They may provide tender loving care, but the facilities were very disturbing. They don't require proof of shots or anything. Continue to read on our experience, if you are interested...
We were staying on Isle of Palms and needed a place to keep our pet. Grooming Designers informed us that our dog would have his own run and that the area was air conditioned. We then asked if we could see where the dogs were kept. We went through the office and another room and down a few steps into a concrete floored area where they kept the little dogs stacked in metal crates with more than two dogs per crate. The smell was repulsive. It was not clean and didn't appear to have been cleaned in days. Then we proceeded through that room to the area where the larger dogs were kept in their own run. Each run was packed with anywhere from 3 dogs to 7 dogs per run. It was disturbing and a mistake on our part in not calling around to kennels in the area. We kept our dog here one single night and then took him to "Best Friends" Boarding around the corner more or less before you go over the big bridge. We were very happy with "Best Friends" boarding and they needed proof of shots for rabies, kennel cough, and a few others but I can't remember. Make sure your vet is available to fax the info to them. We were rookies at traveling with our dog, but now we know. Hope you have more luck than we did! Best of luck. A Stafford
