Best Food Outside of Charleston!. We have been going here as a family for almost 20 years! The food is great and if you go back they will remember you. My favorite is the crab stuffed shrimp or the fried seafood platter. But when I like to switch it up I get the mustard spiced shrimp, which is usually an appetizer, as a dinner portion and it is fantastic!! And dont forget to end your meal with a piece of peanut butter ice cream pie!! Long Island Cafe is consistent and a delicious when nothing else on the Isle of Palms seems to be! Check them out tonight or for Sunday Brunch!
Mediocre food and bad service. My boyfriend and I went here after being around town all day because we were looking for some good seafood. I was very unimpressed with this restaurant. The service was terrible and it took forever for a server to approach the table. We weren't dressed up because we had been out around town and I think that was partly the reason no one cared to take our orders. However, we were on vacation and looking for a nice dinner. We most likely would have stayed and drank wine, but decided to leave the minute our bill arrived. When a server finally did take our orders she was unfriendly and when we received our food it was bland. Overall the experience was disappointing and we won't be back.
Great Seafood and everything else!.
This in one of my favorite restaurants, I'm a lttle biased because I did work here for 6 years. But seriously six years of eating at the same resaurant almost everyday and I never ran out of tasty options. My two favorite things on the menu are: 1.The Stuffed Chicken- They take a crab stuffing and toasted pecans and stuff them into a chicken breast. It comes served with a sherry gravy and more pecans, the gravy may need a sprinkle of salt, but wow! (I crave this chicken and you are going to need a to go box) 2. The Parmesan Salmon, a fresh 7-8oz serving of atlantic salmon topped with creamy garlic sauce and parmesan cheese and then delicately baked until medium. The combination of flavors is so fabulous, the garlic and cheese really bring out the flavor of the salmon.**a little side note on the creamy garlic sauce: this sauce is good on everything, ask for extra to dip your veggies and potatoes in.
If you are craving some fried food then this is the place. the shrimp and oysters here are fried quickly with the lightest batter that gives them a great crunch without weighing then down. The tartar and cocktail sauces along with all the salad dressings and desserts are homeade and wonderful. If you are on Isle of Palms you do not want to miss this place. It is right beside the red and white grocery store, but don't let the strip mall facade fool you. This in some great food is a cool comfy place. I'm addicted! They are open everyday for lunch and dinner and Sunday brunch.
Other "must trys" on the menu
*Ribeye with bleu cheese butter and onion rings
*Pork Tenderloin with ginger garlic and creamy garlic sauces
*Fried shrimp salad with homeade thousand island dressing
*Chicken Noodle Soup (when available)
