bought a used ipod, brought it home to NC and gave it to my 12 YO daughter, she said only one side of earplugs worked, brought it back to James Island store to exchange for other unit..NEVER looking for money back, exchange plus pay extra. Manager said it had been 10 days and I was out of luck, no way was he giving me anything towards replacement unit.and said it with an attitude. week prior I bought a $100 used extension ladder and tools..Last time I ever set foot in a money man again. HORRABLE customer service. bad business practices such as these will insure the demise of there chain, I hope others take note, all they want is your money, your disposable.
their some rip offs! – u would of thought like, with all the money they making they wouldnt try to rip a person off of tjeir own s*** i mean ur stuff could be worth an arm and a leg but they wanna give u less then what its worth and the sell it months later twice more then what they give u. All the money man pawns r like that. They can kiss my A**!
Worst customer service around town! – This place in general has some of the worst customer service around town. They will rip you off any way they can and will do it with a smile on there face while the openly mock you in the rudest way. That person that said they are great must work there and is trying to cover up for his company. STAY away from this place at all cost, it's time for business like MONEY MAN PAWN to know we as customers will not stand for this type of behavior. I never wright reviews but I want to save people the troubles this place will give you. S T A Y A W A Y F R O M T H I S P L A C E!!!!!!!!!!!
Stay away – Really rude service. I felt like a criminal with my own stuff. they were rude and insulting.
Best pawn shop around – I have read all of these reviews, and I am surprised with everyone's feedback. I have been to nearly all of the Money Man Pawn stores and enjoy the interaction I receive there.
Pawn shops are a different world. Most view pawn shops as though they are retail stores, but they are not. They are a loan company with used products to offer buyers. The products you find in there are used. Thus, you may purchase something that doesn't run like new. That's because it's used! The negotiation process is put in place for the consumer. If you find yourself interested in a product there, test it. If you agree with the price that is set for that product, you buy it at that price. If you don't agree, you negotiate the price down to what you believe to be reasonable considering its condition.
As far as the comment goes about the person who accussed the employee on Hwy 17 of being racest, or making a racest comment. I am sorry, but if I was in an establishment wherein someone made such a comment to me, I would have done more than simply write a review on Citysearch. I would have consumer affairs involved. That doesn't seem to be the case here, though. I just can't see anyone making such a derogatory comment and nothing having been done. I shop at this location a lot. I have NEVER been a witness to such treatment. I have always been treated wtih respect.
If you are in the market for something that would be for sale at a pawn shop, I would suggest trying out Money Man. Just remember, the items are used, so you must test them out until you feel comfortable buying it. Then, if the price is marked at $45.95, offer them $35 or $25. It's a negotiation process. There is no winner and no loser. Just an agreement. If you are in the market for jewelry, you MUST go to a pawn shop. Jewelry stores have such an outrageous mark up on their jewelry so that when people go to resale it at a pawn shop they are offended by what the store is willing to pay for it. It's not that the store is greedy and they don't want to give you what the jewelry is worth, youj just paid WAY too much if you bought it from a retail store.
I am just saying.
your money – TO ALL OTHER HONEST HARD WORKING PERSON OUT THERE,LISTEN FOR A MINUTE,I PURCHASED A WEED EATER ON MCMILLAN AVE. AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS IN GOOD CONDITION,IT STARTED FINE,BUT WHEN I GOT HOME,I FILLED IT WITH GAS AND NOTICED IT WAS LEAKING REAL BAD,I TOOK IT BACK TO SEE IF IT COULD BE EXCHANGED,I WAS TOLD THAT I BROKE IT,AND YOUR OUT OF LUCK AND OUT OF $75 AND THE CROOKS JUST KEEP ON CROOKIN,AND THATS WHAT I MEAN BY KEEP YOUR MONEY IN YOUR WALLET
I exist – Customer service does not exist. I went in to shop for guns and Jewelry. I had to ask a salesmen to wait on my husband. I wanted to see some jewelry, but the salesmen where too busy talking to wait on me. I will not go back.
Pawner Beware – Last fall I found myself a little short and needed a small loan to pull me through. (50.00) I had a Jasmine guitar by Takemine worth about 100.00 and a 100 watt PA amp. head I had previously purchased from the same Pawn shop for 60.00 and had repaired.(value 125.00) I Told the new employee (young white male) what I was trying to do and he told me he felt that he could not make me a 50.00 loan based on the age of the equiptment. I took the same two pieces to a N. Chs. Pawn Shop where I have done busines before and recieved a 60.00 Loan, which I repaid. I later returned to purchase a Limited edition Smith and Wesson Lock-Back Military Issue Knife for 40.00. I have not gone back to Moneyman Since!
If your a person of color with precious metals to sell look elsewhere – Money ManHwy 17 N near the Wachovia Bank.my grandmother asked to get some information from Money Man on the price of silver and gold that she had for sale. I went to the store and I was polite and respectful. There were two people behind the counter one young lady and one male. I posed my question regarding the price of silver. The gentlemen
and use that term very loosely, refused to answer my question. Instead he sprouted general nothings. I asked again thinking he many not have understood my question. He response was the same, I don't know, could be anything. The young women said loud enough for me to hear "Why wont you tell her the price of silver?". His response was I don't like the way she looks and its probably stolen anyway. My suggestion is stay away from this clown if you want sell you scrap precious metals.
I MUST ADMIT I WAITED AWHILE TO WRITE THIS REVIEW BECAUSE OF THE ANGER I FELT AFTER LEAVING THIS STORE.
