Regrettably, this was the worst experience I've ever had in a salon. My stylist did a great job with the color - there is no doubt about that. The interior of the salon is beautiful and Huong is a great colorist. They failed to mention additional charges for services that were quite costly and not nearly worth the service I received. I was expecting ~$100 bill and it was nearly double when I checked out. Highly recommend reconfirming prices upon arrival.

For the BEST haircut ever, ask for Ralph!. Pros -

* Best haircut I've ever had!

* RALPH ROINA - super friendly and born to cut hair

* Took me after hours - I made an appointment late in the day and he stayed for an hour after the shop closed so that he could cut my hair.

* My friends are RAVING about my haircut!

* Very affordable (compared to what I've been paying for a good haircut)

Cons -

* I live in Walnut Creek, CA and really can't afford to go to Charleston every 2 months to get my hair cut.

But if you are lucky enough to live there or travel there often, DO NOT MISS SEEING RALPH. He seriously gave me the best haircut of my life!

Finally Found The Best Salon!. I have a summer home in Charleston and while shopping on King Street walked into Allure Salon. I was greeted by Jill who told me about all services that Allure had to offer. I just wanted my hair Blown and she introduced me to Ralph. Ralph took the time to discuss how I liked my hair to look. He did a great job and I made another appointment for a haircut. Best cut ever!! I found a wonderful Salon and will be returning to Ralph on a regular basis

Christine Piontek makes my hair happy.. I moved to Charleston in February and knew that I needed a good colorist right away. I asked my makeup artist whom he would use. He looked at my hair, looked at my personal style and then said, "Christine Piontek at Allure". I have not been to anyone else and I don't plan to. Christine "restores my hair to its natural color" regularly. And, when people say, "You color your hair? really?" I just smile. It looks so good and so natural that I shouldn't be writing the world about my colorist. But, I cannot keep a secret this good...the world needs to know.

Christine is amazing!!. My friend and I both went to Christine with over processed blonde hair. She made our hair look amazing and natural. She is an expert at blondes and I would recommend her to anyone who wants natural, beautiful blonde hair! She made not only the color look wonderful but the texture of our hair improved as well. She is very helpful and wants to help you improve your hair. Thanks Christine for saving us!!!

The best my hair has ever looked! Thanks Christine!. This was my first time at allure and I will definately be going back. I saw Christine and told her to do what she wanted to fix my horrible brassy blonde. It turns out that blondes are a specialty of hers and my hair looks amazing! It actually complements my skin tone and looks so natural. Also the cut was precise and fantastic. Allure truly is the color specialist.

Not my favorite color, or cut.. I wasn't very impressed with Allure Salon. My stylist was incredibly personable and the front desk was sweet. But my color faded after 3 weeks and my cut didn't help my thin hair. Even though, I had a groupon, it wasn't worth the money. I wouldn't go back and truly wish I could get a refund.

Great cut from Megan. Had a great experience with Megan.

I usually go to a salon in Mt. Pleasant, but the last time I was there my stylist kept checking the clock as if she couldn't wait to leave and she barely spoke to me. This was supposedly the "top" stylist.

I purchased the groupon for Allure and thought I'd give it a try. I always worry that I'm going to be looked down upon when I go to a high end salon, but this was not the case at all at Allure. When I went in to make my appointment, the girls at the front desk were very friendly. It was very easy to find an appointment time that worked for me.

Upon arrival for my appointment I was offered wine or another beverage. I didn't have to wait long at all for Megan.

Before doing anything she asked what I'd like done to my hair. I explained what issues I was having (she actually came around to the front of the chair and listened to me) and she helped suggest what would work for my hair.

The cut was great! It's been a few days and I think it actually looks even better now (and it's not because of my styling - it's the cut!!).

This may sound silly, but one of the things I appreciated about the salon was that both times I went in, I could hear the stylists talking to their clients about their hair - making suggestions on what would look good, how to maintain the look, when to come back for touch ups, etc. It was clear that the stylists at Allure truly care about what they do.

I will definitely go back. It would have been worth the money even without the groupon!

Jimmy is the best. Fixed the mess on my head!!. I went to a Salon in another part of Charleston to have my hair colored darker. I had some blonde highlights but wanted them covered up and just go with dark. Well, they REALLY messed it up. I had highlights you could still see but were some strange color I don't even know the name of. The ends of my hair were a black/purple type color. They knew they screwed up but no way were they touching my hair again.

My girlfriend I was visiting suggested Jimmy. She has beautiful hair and should have listened to her the first time. I sat in his chair, barely able to look at myself. I just told Jimmy to fix it. Whatever he could do. i just wanted dark hair. One color. Well He fixed that mess and made me very very happy. He even added low lights which I knew nothing about. It looks great. He cut it also and I have NEVER been happier with my hair. I WILL travel the hour it takes to get to Charleston from my city. Never again will anyone but Jimmy touch my head!!! It is FABULOUS!!!!!!!
