Truly Special.
Before spending 4 days at Governor's House Inn, my husband and I were neutral, at best, about staying at a bed and breakfast. Fortunately, this is no ordinary b&b - elegant historic inn would be a better description. The place is truly special, from the beautiful living space to the southern porches and guest rooms. The staff is probably the best we have experienced anywhere. In the future we will judge other inns by the Governor's House gold standard. Highly recommended.

Excellence.
It's always a pleasure to be in the company of people who love what they do. They really love what they do at the Governors house. An almost invisible staff until needed (always attentive, they seem to anticipate your wishes from a glass of sherry to dinner reservations at any of the fine restaurants within a short walk), excellent and secure off-street parking, At your pleasure you will be in the company of interesting guests and gracious hostesses serving fresh baked breakfast and afternoon tea treats.
God willing, we will return again and again.

Southern hospitality at its best.
We stayed at the Governor's House Inn on our vacation last January (2002). We stayed on the 3rd floor in the Magnolia Room, one of the more modest rooms and it was beautiful, with a large elegant bath and a wonderful room with a great view. The people were the friendliest and most helpful that we have ever enountered. We would go back in a heartbeat!
