charleston beauty.
This is a beautiful old mansion with elegant old style charleston rooms. I felt it was somewhat off the beaten path though not terribly far. I like to walk but coming back on those old sidewalks at night was a challenge.
This lovely place keeps trying to get better with new personal services.
One of charleston's best. There is a cupola on the roof with a balcony that has a great view for photographers.

Relaxing and romantic experience.
This is truly a treat to stay at this hotel/mansion. All rooms are unique and large. Great for a romantic get away. Service is amazing which is led by Miss Betty who handles the breakfast...she is what southern hospitality is all about.

COMPLETELY OVERPRICED.
AMATEUR, UNPROFESSIONAL STAFF. The service here is what you'd expect at a chain hotel by the interstate. $425 gets you a club-level room at a Ritz Carlton with service appopriate to that price range. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. Room service for something as simple as a cheese plate (the selections on which clearly came from a grocery store) takes hours and is totally overpriced. Don't ask staff for dining recommendations--they're local college students and could care less. Breakfast service is RUDE and slow.

Step back in time in this superbly located inn..
The Scene
Originally known as the Rodgers' Mansion, this Second Empire-style home was built between 1885 and 1887. Vestiges of its grand past can be seen in details such as the hand-carved marble fireplaces and Tiffany stained-glass windows. The rich heritage is further showcased in the mahogany, oak and walnut woodwork.
The Details
Accommodations range from Mansion Rooms to the Grand Mansion Suite. The latter looks as if it belongs in a European villa. An original crystal Tiffany chandelier overhangs the sitting area, and there are two fireplaces. All rooms have whirlpools, and many have day beds. A European breakfast buffet is served on the sun porch, and one of the city's best dining establishments, Circa 1886, is located in the gardens behind the mansion. Rodgers Library serves as the venue for complimentary cordials. A concierge is available to direct you to nearby historic homes and gardens. The romantic setting makes this place popular for weekend getaways and Valentine's Day escapes.
