Worst Bar in Charleston!
by alexchs23
Brick is truly one of the worst bars in Charleston, made so by the unbelievably rude and nasty staff. As a bartender and local in Charleston, I have given this bar more than its fair share of chances and have always been sorely disappointed! Not only are the bartenders and bouncers not courteous or civil, they are truly nasty and aggressive. Even on a slow night, do not expect even mediocre service. Recently, a group of us actually left our first round of full drinks on the bar due to nasty comments about us from a bartender. I did not pay for my untouched beer, as the comments were about me, and the bartender called me a slur of names and tried to call the cops for the unpaid (and undrank) beer!! I was mortified to have brought friends to this bar. Don't make the same mistake.
Terrible!!!!! Avoid!!! Avoid!!!

wow... what a terrible bar for such a wonderful city. Southern hospitality thrives in Charleston, but is sorely missed in this place. "Last Call" means if you buy one more drink you must chug it in 5 minutes or be hassled by the 3 bouncers and bartenders to get the F*** out. Yes, my girlfriend was cursed at by an intoxicated bouncer. I am writing this review literally 30 minutes after this terrible experience. One of the bouncers said he can easily finish a beer in 5 minutes... at that point it was 1:40am, bar supposeably closes at 2, yet we were ESCORTED out by 1:45. Once I alerted the manager that word travels via the "interweb" his attitude changed 180 degrees. All I can say is if you are looking to be disrespected in a classy city like Charleston this is the place. They treat all guests as if they are drunk college students even though the bartenders and bouncers are clearly among the most intoxicated in the place.
AVOID AVOID AVOID, please don't encourage such disrespect in such a wonderful city!
- Pros: None
- Cons: Rushed out the door, wasn't even allowed to finish the rest of my expensive beer
