BEST Salon for a Wedding Party. I am a Wedding Specialist in Downtown Charleston so I've heard horror stories of nearby salons in the area (not naming names). But I was lucky enough to have my hair and make-up done at Canvas Salon for my Wedding on November 5, 2011. was blown away by the experience we had with the staff, the salon, and the end result was amazing! My entire bridal party (all 10 of us) were completely pampered and taken care of in the upstairs Bridal Room. The upstairs area is adorned with comfy chairs and beautiful natural light where my bridesmaids and I were able to pop open champagne, share some appetizers and enjoy ourselves! Even my mom and grandma were able to join us and they too received star treatment with hair and make-up experts. I was given great advice and recommendations during the trial run, so my skin would be prepped for the make-up on the day of the event. I do not wear a lot of make-up and Jennifer did an excellent job of making me look natural yet flawless for pictures. The idea in my head for my hair design came to life right before my eyes. Great Salon. I've been going to Canvas for almost two years and never have I had a bad experience. The staff is professional and super friendly and my time in the chair is a mini vacation. I go for the conversation and for the sexy haircut I know I'll get. My boyfriend and both of my roommates are also regular customers. We all have different hair types, but all of us end up being pleased with the haircuts and color we get. I'd recommend Canvas to anyone and do.

GREAT FOR ANY HAIR TYPES!!!. I have been a customer at Canvas since I moved to Charleston 3 years ago. I was immediately awed by the look and feel of simply being inside the salon! The atmosphere is cozy & trendy which welcomes even the plainest of people, me!!! The #1 reason why I will continue to come back to Canvas is that my girls are treated like royalty! From start to finish, they are respected and catered to as if they are the actual paying customer (I wish!!). They have "mixed" hair which is not always understood by most hairdressers, but that was not the case at Canvas. From the very first visit, I saw immediate results in the manageability and appearance of their hair. The smiles from ear to ear are priceless! I am also impressed with the camaraderie between the owners and their employees....they are all treated as family! A happy, well-respected salon BY FAR!!!

Fabulous Salon!. Absolutely the best salon is Charleston! All of the stylist are wonderful & very knowledgeable. It is a beautiful salon with a wonderful atmosphere. I have been a customer since the salon opened & I refer everyone I know!

Best Salon In Charleston. I came on here and saw the recent review and this is just plain false. I have been going to Marie for 8 years and never in my life have I ever walked out of her salons unhappy!! I am stopped on the street all the time with who does your hair, and I always send them to Marie at Canvas. They have never been unsatisfied. The previous review is so untrue I felt the need to set the record straight. Don't believe everything you read!!! Go and check them out and see for yourself. Canvas is the best Charleston has ever seen.

Don't waste your money!. The owner Marie is a snob and does NOT know how to color hair! Don't waste your money or your time!!! She botched my color and didn't do anything to try to fix it or offer my money back. I had to go elsewhere and spend more money to correct her mistake! I wouldn't go back if it was the last salon on earth!!
