Mouthwatering, Funky, Urban Lowcountry awesomeness. I cannot get enough of The Glass Onion! It's a very unique and pleasurable respite from the typical eateries that populate the West Ashley area.

No, it's not the cheapest place to grab a quick meal. But its ever-changing menu always features unique and seasonable fare that is rarely found almost anywhere in the area.

The parking lot is not nearly large enough, so don't be surprised if you have circle the place a couple of times. On the busy Savannah Highway (17), this is sometimes easier said than done.

Once you get a parking spot and enter the place, you'll immediately notice its unique atmosphere. Real food, that's what they serve at the Glass Onion.

Don't be in a hurry; take your time and enjoy yourself.

Recommended.

All-Natural, Delicious Food. This awesome place is a locals' favorite that features exceptionally prepared, fresh, local southern cuisine in a casual, unpretentious setting--a must for anyone who wants to experience a unique take on the bounty of the Lowcountry.

High Quality, Seasonal Ingredients in a Casual, Cozy Setting. This hidden gem is one of the best restaurants in Charleston! The big-as-your-head Po'Boys come on authentic Leidenheimer French bread, and are virtually overflowing with goodness! You can choose from such fare as fried Carolina shrimp, mustard-fried catfish, all-natural chicken salad, or if in season, eggplant parmesan with fresh-made mozzarella. Also, this is one of the few places worthy enough to feature the wonderful beers from the small, local craft brewery, Coast, whose IPA is among the best of its style. Dessert is a must: their masterfully baked poundcakes alternate with versions like honey-almond, ginger-peach, and the truly addictive cafe au lait.

Over Priced, and Terrible Food!. I came here for brunch once and for 2 people we managed to spend $40.00 for 2 plates and some coffee. The food was HORRIBLE! They had real bacon that was the nastiest thing I ever tasted, it was a piece of thick LARD that had no meat on it. The portions were tiny!!!!!

GO HAVE A GREAT MEAL FOR HALF THE COST DOWN THE STREET AT IHOP!!! SAVE YOURSELF THE TROUBLE!
