A Dump!. My wife is a member at North Charleston and convinced me to join. The place is a dump! a F#%*ing dump.

Machines are falling apart, lack of spray bottles and towels, lights have been burned out for months, and the AC barely works.

e-mails to management are either ignored or if answered, promises are made and not followed through on.

Today I was on a machine and the foot rest just fell down with no warning. Many of the seats are the same way. Somebody will get hurt someday.

Since I'm on my wife's plan, I'm not sure how to get out of the contract, but I will somehow or they will have to do some serious cleanup and repairs.

I wonder if there's any city regulation of these places?

Horrible Gym...Scoundrels. They tell you that you can get out of the contract after a year. Then they tell you that you have to come by the gym to terminate your membership. Then you have to send a certified letter terminating your membership. Then they ignore that letter and charge you anyway.

This gym is AWFUL.. I have been a member since June 2007. The biggest mistake I've made is renewing my contract. If you do make the mistake of signing up (only to realize that the gym is flooded with CofC students) there is no way to cancel your membership. I just spoke with someone today who informed me that cancellation only happens when the client moves over 50 miles away or DIES. AThe customer service is horrible and unless you like to work out between the hours of 1am-6am, you'll have to wait in line for a college student (who gets in for free) finishes using the equipment. This is the smallest ESAC location, and is in no way equipped to handle all the students they now let in for free PLUS the paying members (who should get priority).

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM.

Absolute Joke of a Gym...DO NOT JOIN!. I agree with the previous review. College of Charleston students are allowed to use the downtown gym at no cost, but no one tells you that when you sign a year contract. I paid $180 to cancel my membership once someone FINALLY called me back after 5-10 phone calls, emails and 3 months after I tried to get ahold of them the first time. This place is an absolute joke...please don't support such a terrible business. Customer service is terrible, and the employees will lie to you all day to get your money.

Avoid at all costs!!. *STAY AWAY* ESAC has signed a contract with College of Charleston and allows all of their student?s free access. This is the only ESAC by campus! Paying members concerns are being ignored by their General Manager. Terrible customer service!

Unbelievably small gym with too many machines packed in, machines are never available, and their locker room is tiny. It fits about 5 people. The parking is even worse, 60$/yr for nothing. The 5 spots are always full! Go to another GYM and you will be thankful.
