Tips for Ars

ARS Technician Tommy Lee is always very thorough with my HVAC system, he answers all questions and explains any work needed for efficient cost effective service. I ask for Tommy to come to my resident as I trust his work and he is reliable. Always keeps his appointments and is prompt.

Aruguably the worst service I have ever received.. We are now on week 2 of waiting for our air conditioning to be fixed. Meanwhile we have a tenant who has been without A/C. They are incompetent, cannot keep an appointment to save their life and the manager is a coward that will not return phone calls and makes his receptionist take the brunt of the complaints. We have left him a message no less than 7 times and have NEVER received a call back from him. We were told that they were "waiting for a part" only to find out that they had it for a week. They then could not go out do to "rain" that never happened. They scheduled to come out again but grabbed the wrong part. So now were are waiting for them to come out after they get done with their other calls. I am telling you, you would have better luck buying your own air conditioning and paying a 4 year old to install it. It would get done faster and they would be able to communicate more clearly with you and not hide behind the administrative.

Call around first. ARS is the most expensive and least reliable HVAC service company around this area. They do not keep their appointments. Their prices are twice that of local competitors. Do not fall for their warranty scam.

We've had nothing but headaches with this company over the past 5 years. Do yourself a favor and call around first.

ARS/AHS Warranty Service - Bottom of the Totum Pole. My experience with ARS was via AHS (American Home Shield warranty). Several times, an appointment was confirmed by the call center and hours later a distpatch dept would call and say the call center made a mistake because I was a warranty client, so I would have to wait another day and take a "standard" technician appointment. Then a tech with little experience would arrive and misdiagnoses the issue, or has a truck with no parts, or is not trained for this issue. After experiencing this several times, I got a HUGE run around when calling to complain as the call center manager did not want to give me a corporate contact. I tracked this down myself and got great response from corporate, as well as a trained tech named Clarence who was WONDERFUL and finally we got the issue fixed with a new evaporator coil (due to several leaks). ARS and ASH are both Service Master companies. Hope you don't have a warranty issue or you will be the least of the local company's concern unless you insist on adequate service. Coordination between ARS call center and dispatch is dismal and they "manage each other down". AHS staff was very responsive and pleasant to work with, but they call the companies with the worst reputations in town for warranty service.
