Wonderful experience! I had heard such good things about this shop that I drove from out of town to buy my dress even though I did not get married in Charleston. The owner personally helped me. Even though I was an older bride and not looking for the traditional white wedding dress, she helped me find the perfect dress. She spent a lot of time with me and never made me feel rushed. The alterations were done perfectly even though we made some changes to the dress. The owner cared enough to ask the needed questions to find out exactly what I was looking for and then was able to recommend appropriately. Everyone that I met in the store was helpful and knowledgable . I would highly recommend buying the perfect dress at this shop!

Wonderful Experience! I was recently married in downtown Charleston, SC. Being from Boston, MA, I was very torn as to where to buy my dress. I can say with 100% confidence that I made the best decision by purchasing my gown at the Gown Boutique of Charleston! Not only is the shop beautiful and the owners and staff extremely friendly, knowledgeable and professional, they also have a vast array of exquisite wedding gowns on site! They made me feel like their only client each and every time I was there for a fitting. They also alleviated any concerns I ever had throughout the process of my dress not looking perfect; turns out it did! My beautiful dress was perfectly fit for me, and I received so many compliments from my family and friends. They have prices to fit every budget, and even helped me accessorize with a sash, veil and broach. I was also able to drop my dress off after the wedding for them to send off and be preserved. They made everything so easy and seamless and I am so glad I made the best choice by buying my perfect wedding dress from the Gown Boutique of Charleston!! ~Courtney S.

I can not speak for all that work at the boutique, however the owner is one of the rudest and one of the meanest people I have ever encountered. It is a shame. Mount Pleasant and the Charleston area are known for how friendly people are and this person is not. My dress was bought at a different lovely boutique all the way across Charleston.

Great for out of town brides :). The ladies at the Gown Boutique made my wedding day PERFECT!! I only had 7 months to get my dress in and fitted for a wedding in Florida. Not only did they get it in on time but the first dress fitting the size was almost perfect! By the second dress fitting the dress was perfect and I was headed home to Florida with it a month before the wedding! They worked hard to make sure I had everything I needed in time! Such a pleasure to work with!!!!! People couldn't stop talking about how gorgeous the dress was! Thank you so much ladies!!!

I am still beaming.... I had the most wonderful experience at Gown Boutique this weekend. I wanted to run to my computer as soon as possible to rave over the Boutique and staff. I set up an appointment with Emily (who is an absolute doll!) at 4:30. She and the owner Terri made me feel like I was the only bride in the world. I ended up staying until after 7 and they did not make me feel rushed at all. I filled out a questionaire before I went in and Emily had dresses waiting for me. I had already been to other places where I had to walk around and pick out my own and it was very overwhelming. They respect your budget range and do not pressure you into anything. I found the PERFECT dress (which was actually below my budget!!) but had one more place my mom and I wanted to go the next day. They were completely booked the next day and were so busy, however, I knew I needed to try on the dress one more time. Terri took me back immediately and I knew it was the one. I cannot rave enough about Gown and I am making appointments for my mother and bridesmaids to try on dresses as well so that they can have the wonderful experience I had!

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The Stars were NOT shining at this pretentious venue. Perhaps 5 stars can be awarded for rudeness, artless attempts at condescension and inappropriate behavior by the proprietress, Terri. Mother Theresa she's not. While the gown selection was weak, our disappointment was that by the time she showed her true colors, my daughter's wedding was one day away. Perfect Experience. My visit to the Gown Boutique of Charleston was EXCELLENT from start to finish. I called to make my appointment on the phone - pretty last minute on my part. I live in Ohio and was making a quick trip to Charleston just 2 days later. Emily answered the phone and was so excited for my engagement. Unfortunately, they were all booked for that day, but she told me she would see what she could do since we were from out of town and get back to me. A little while later, she called me back to say that she had moved some things around and would fit me in!

When my mom and I arrived, the space was beautiful and immaculate with plenty of big mirrors and good lighting for trying on. This was my 5th visit to bridal boutiques...and may I add that 2 of those shops were very high end...but this place was so much better than all the others. Krista and Emily were both super-friendly and hospitable. Not only that, but right away we were told that a bride can find her dream dress in any price range (different than 2 other shops I'd visited where the dresses started at around $4000!).

After my mom and I were given mimosas and chocolate, we chatted a bit about what I wanted and Emily helped me pick out the right dresses in my price range. Their selection is so wonderful! The worst dress at this shop looked better on me than the best dress at the other 4 boutiques I'd visited! I cannot rave enough about this wonderful place! I was able to finally pick my favorite (I got a sample dress) and walked out of the store with my dress and a gift-bag to celebrate the purchase.

A Class Act. My daughter and I went shopping for her wedding gown at Gown Boutique, and found it to be a wonderful experience! Both Terri and Krista were amazing. They let my daughter take her time looking at the gowns, and never pressured her into something she did not want. She fell in love with the very first gown she tried on, but wanted to look at others just to "make sure". Terri and Krista had no problem with that, and helped her try on a variety of styles. However, she kept coming back to that very first gown. Although it was not the most expensive gown in the shop, we never felt pressured to purchase anything else. It was the gown that made my daughter happy, and that was all that mattered to the owners.

The display gowns in Gown Boutique are kept in pristine condition. They are handled with care by the owners, and are free of make-up stains and dirty hand marks. The same cannot be said of a second bridal shop we visited. We had previously booked an appointment at a competing gown salon, and felt obligated to at least take a look at their selection. Gone was the professionalism and southern charm that was ever-present at Gown Boutique. The owner of this competing salon was crass, and actually kicked a gown across the floor as we walked in. All of her gowns were covered with make-up stains and hand prints. Needless to say, my daughter did not try on even one gown in this store. Instead, she immediately called Terri and asked to return to Gown Boutique to purchase the very first gown she tried on!

I cannot recommend Gown Boutique enough. Their store is beautiful, with a very large selection of gowns to chose from. If you are searching for bridal, bridesmaid, or mother-of-the-bride gowns, you will not be disappointed. You will be treated with respect and will experience a true class act.

PERFECT EXPERIENCE. I moved from Atlanta to Charleston in the year leading up to my wedding, and worried that I would have to drive back to Atlanta to do my gown shopping. Not at all! This boutique surpassed any of the places I have shopped at with my girlfriends in Atlanta.

From the moment I walked into the Gown Boutique, I was immediately comfortable and impressed with their amazing selection of gowns. Terri and Christa couldn't be more gracious, helping me find the perfect dress. I tried on several of my "dream gowns," nothing quite right. Terri pulled a dress that she thought I should try on. I never would have pulled that dress on my own, but it turned out to be the most flattering and beautiful style on my body. I so appreciated the knowledge and expertise. Of all the things to worry about, you certainly don't want to worry about your gown or the way it fits. My mother, who lives on a sailboat in the Bahamas, also got her dress at the shop, and Terri bent over backwards to work around my mom's difficult fitting schedule. These women are absolute professionals, while also charmingly friendly and gracious. I absolutely love them, and I can't wait to see the new location!!!

Lovely boutique, elegant dresses, fabulous owners!. PERFECT experience!

The Gown Boutique was the third shop I visited while searching for my wedding dress. I had been married before, and while I did not know exactly what I wanted, at 29 I knew exactly what I DID NOT want to wear on my wedding day. The Gown Boutique was not in business when I was searching for a wedding dress the first time, but I had heard so many great reviews from friends, family and strangers, that I had to make an appointment.

From the moment I called to schedule a visit, I had nothing but an amazing experience. The shop itself is warm, sophisticated and elegant from floor to ceiling.

One of the first things I noticed was that I was the only bride there. For anyone who has ever been to bridal shops before, you know how awful it is when there are a million brides, bridesmaids, moms, etc gathered in a store. Brides have to wait for other women to finish trying on gowns so that they can give them a try, there can be several brides trying to cram onto the same viewing pedestal, often the dressing rooms are small and dark, and the staff is so busy that the bride is not given any attention resulting in a bride leaving with a headache instead of a dress!

YOU WILL NOT EXPERIENCE THAT AT THE GOWN BOUTIQUE!!!!!

I love that the owners are meticulous about keeping the sample dresses clean and organized. It was refreshing to try on gowns that were not torn, dirty and missing elements. All of the gowns were displayed so that it was easy to take a look and decide whether or not to try the dress.

The dressing "rooms," there are only 2 or maybe 3, were very large, clean spaces. The ladies at the Gown Boutique help the bride in and out of every gown, and then pin and tuck where needed before opening the curtain and letting the bride walk out for friends and family to see.

I was enthusiastically greeted by Terri when I arrived, and throughout my appointment, Terri was absolutely wonderful! She listened to my likes and dislikes, as well as my budget limits and unlike other stores, she actually paid attention and did not insist on showing dresses that did not meet my needs.

I was very impressed by Terri's knowledge of where to alter the dresses to make them look most flattering on my figure, and I appreciated the amount of time she spent with me and my mother to demonstrate exactly what my dress would look like once fitted, bustled etc-- all before I ever purchased anything!

After purchasing my gown, Terri immediately followed up with a hand written note thanking me and welcoming me as a Gown Boutique bride. I visited a few months later with a few of my bridesmaids, and we had another amazing and successful experience!

Gown Boutique is more than a wedding dress store, it is an elegant, classy shop where a bride can find a lovely wedding gown. I am thrilled to be a Gown Boutique bride and would recommend it to anyone!
