Roach alert. This is the worst restaurant in Charleston, they have rude waiters, managers that dont know how the food is even prepared, and roaches. I heard that this place is very nasty in the kitchen area and that roaches are everywhere. The restaurant isnt even clean and the food isnt worth talking about. Do yourself and your stomaches a favor dont eat here.

Wonderful and Comfy. I just love Greek food. I have lived in Charleston my whole life and Valentines day is tomorrow. I could go anywhere I wanted- all the fine dining downtown Charleston has to offer but i chose Athens! The service is always superb and the bathrooms are very clean. It has a wonderful patio for the spring months but all year round the food is exceptional. I am a lover of lamb and taziki sauce and they make their sauce in house and it is just undescribable wonderful! Everyone should take a trip by and enjoy a bit on Italy in Charleston. Some people complain about the prices but they are very affordable depending on what you order and they also have amazing apps and dessert! I cant say enough how wonderful it is!

Gotta go with the Greek Chicken on the Grill Side!. If you love Greek Chicken, try theirs. They precook a half chicken and then warm it up on the grill (complete with black grill marks). You get Greek potatoes and a Greek Salad. They drench it in some lemon butter that you can dip the chicken and potatoes in. One order is enough for us to split. We never order 2.

Great service and awesome food!. I was brought to Athens by my fiancee for Valentine's Day and I had a great time. The server was very personable and was helpful in helping me decide between two entrees. The Vege plate was GREAT!! The bakliva and coffee was also fantastic. I really enjoyed my dinner at Athens and prompt service by our waiter.

GREAT CHICKEN PITA. I am a lover of great Greek food. Here in Charleston, my home town I wouldn't go anywhere else for great pizza and especially the CHICKEN or GYRO PITAS!! Athen's tziki sauce is one of a kind!! I highly recommend Athens for a yummy lunch or romantic meal!!

Worst Greek Food Ever!!!. After passing by this greek restaurant it looked like a clean, well priced, good meal. After experiencing the food and service in addition to my stomach flu caused by the food, I would not recommend this place to my worst enemy. Although it may look like good food, and decent service, the cleanliness and actual product is far from that. After waiting for my server to get us drinks (about 20-30 minutes) the server had an attitude and nothing was impressing me so far. The food came out somewhat timely, and after the first couple bites I considered that my dog's dinner for that night. Even those couple bites was enough to get me very sick. Save your money and many trips to the bathroom by not eating at Athens Restaurant. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!.
