Sanno is a Nickel and Dime kinda place. The food is so-so at best, but my real issue is the fact that they charge you for every single thing! Seriously, most places will include the condiments with your meal- but not these people. I asked for white sauce and they said, "thirty-five cents," then I asked for chili paste (to go with my meal, not even an extra one), they said, "thirty-five cents", I asked for sweet and sour for the order of spring rolls, they said...YOU GUESSED IT, "thirty-five cents."

It really is pathetic! They DO NOT appreciate your business and it shows. I once went twice in a matter of 24 hours, (once at eight pm and then the next day for lunch), they noticed I was back and even after spending $45 dollars for take out, they wanted (drum roll) "thirty-five cents" for the extra white sauce I requested. Really?!?!? You're gonna be so petty as to make me pay "thirty-five cents" after spending roughly $90 in a matter of 24 hours?

This place is a joke! I will never be back again, I will be at Kyoto Fantasy Express, where they appreciate your business, at least "thirty-five cents" worth!

FYI- they own the one in Summerville too! If you go, take your change purse, you'll need it.

Very Affordable, Good Food. I was pretty shocked to see a 1-star review for this place, so I had to leave a review. No one from my group (family/friends) has had anything other than good things to say about Sanno. The food is pretty much the best I've found in its price range. You also get a good bit of it. I usually get the chicken teriyaki dinner ($5.99), and I usually don't finish.

I have never had a Sanno experience where the service wasn't fast and friendly. You are usually only there long enough for one drink refill (which they seem to make a point of doing haha).

Recommend. The food is excellent and very reasonably priced. While it's not the fanciest hibachi restaurant and you don't get the show, the food is good and the staff is always friendly and there isn't the extraordinary wait for service or food.

Great Prices and Great Food. I would have to agree with the last review. The food is great and the prices are reasonable. I have always ate in and the waitress is always nice. I always recommend it to my friends if they are in the mood for Japanese!! I think it is wonderful!!!

Really good food. Unlike the other reviewer, my wife and I find Sanno to be a great place to eat. The prices are really good as is the food. We have had no bad experiences so far. It's a small place, nothing fancy. You can either eat in or take out.

Bad experience. not the best food in town. would rather go to another japanese restaurant and get what i paid for.
