Terrible Haircut. I went here for the first time the other day and got a haircut. I explained to the "barber" what I wanted, and she did nothing close to this. I had to go to another barber and actually got exactly what I wanted for $10. This place is way overpriced, and the lady who cut my hair would not shut up about how she was a master barber and this is why she got paid more than others. If she is a master barber then she needs to go and get her money back for whatever school she went to.

Room for improvement. I was visiting Charleston on business and decided to treat myself to a shave on each day of my two-day visit. On my first day, I went to a competing mens salon nearby and to Gents on the second day. This was my first ever visit to Gents and I made the appointment in advance and did not request a specific barber. I was introduced to Cynthia who gave me a good shave but the process felt just a bit too rushed as I was in and out of her chair in less than 30 minutes. For the price of $40 and claims on the website that GBS is "unique" and "like no other" it would have been reasonable to expect one or two additional applications of hot towels as well as a cool towel at the end. Maybe a chair or scalp massage? Having experienced many shaves at different shops over the years, I have learned how to differentiate a good shave experience from a great one. That said, I can appreciate that as individuals, we have different expectations and it's very hard to please everyone 100% of the time. The shop I went to the previous day for a shave exceeded my expectations so I will be going there in the future.

AWESOME - Best of the Best Experiences.
My fiancee and I were given a Gift Certificate - one to Ladies and one to Gents. So far, this is the best gift we were given! I can not tell you how much fun and how awesome this experience was. Myhusband had a hair cut by Cynthia. It was BY FAR, the best cut he has ever had. They were careful to not take off to much so he walked out of there looking clean and trim but not butchered:)
I was able to soak in some R&R on the Ladies side. My massage with Kathy was so relaxing. I was able to sneak in a lengthy pedicure as well. Uhmmm- longest leg massage in history. Loved it! Meg popped in a few highlites and I was off. A new person! Great customer service and top notch services. No complaints here! Thanks so much. We will be back.

A Looker!. A great location for suberb business idea. One side for men and another for women- I will be sending my father in law here! I did not get services on the mens side but it was a really cool set up. (I was on the Ladies side) I do know that the staff and manager really cared about my experience and that is reason enough to recommend!

Like the good ole days! This is how men should get it done! Great barbering techniques and style. This place oozed with style, comfort and a welcoming homestyle attitude. If you are looking for a get away- look no further.
The wife hit up Ladies next door. She left very happy.

I had a really pleasant experience this past Saturday. I have lived here for years and was given a gift certificate to Gents. I was very impressed with the pricing, staff and interior. The neck massage was a plus- . Cynthia actually gave me the best haircut I have ever had (not too short- styled for once!)
I had the pleasure of meeting the owner. He was very hospitable and offered me a discount upon my return visit- ...not to worry, I plan on being a regular since I have tried similar establishments before. This one one my vote.

Awesome Cut. Someone told my girlfriend Sarah about Gents, so we decided to check it out. When we walked in for my appointment, we were offered drinks, including beer which was pretty cool. They had ESPN on all of the televisions and some mens magazines, including playboy. Sarah didn't mind the playboys though, she has a pretty good since of humor. The atmosphere was nice and the location is great. I felt like my hairstylist was really serious about giving me a good haircut. She listened to everything I said and seemed to know exactly what I wanted even though I didn't do such a good job at describing it. I think her name is Kelly, she has really short hair and sits in the back corner by the windows. I would definitely suggest her. The most important thing is that Sarah was happy. I will definitely be back and I will be telling my friends about this place.
