great pulled pork sandwich! sweet tea with crushed ice!. stayed at renaissance and asked the front desk where to eat on king - was directed to jim n nick's and had one of the best lunches in all of my traveling years! friendly staff - they guided me thru their menu since everything sounds good. told me they make every sauce is made every day and no freezers in teh building. i was sold. had the pulled pork sandwich and side of fries and a sweet tea with crucshed ice - love that. great vibe. i'll be back and will tell my friends.

Great BBQ Could Be Fun For Drinks At Night. Had lunch here on a recent trip to Charleston and was nothing short of stuffed and happy. Good quality BBQ and friendly service. The interior of the building seems a little run down as the floor reminds me of walking on heavily cracked uneven concrete (old tile floor), its a fairly small place and if you sit in the booth's towards the back you its pretty tight to walk back and forth and you may smell like whatever is in the kitchen. If you can get past those minor things, you should be doing just fine. Well worth the stop for lunch. Hearty sizes, fairly priced and the bread is great.

best pulled pork sandwich!. i LOVE the pulled pork sandwich at jim 'n nick's! they do slow-smoked, southern bar-b-q like no one else in charleston. when i do want to try something else on the menu, i order their catfish or Chopped Southern Salad (with smoked turkey). The spare ribs are excellent, too. their trimmings are scratch-made (my favorites are the Mac the Cheese - yum! - and the collards) and so are the pies (i love love love the LEMON cream pie. my 2nd favorite is the coconut cream - so good!). when we have friends or family come to visit in charleston, i take them to all of the touristy sights - but we head to jim 'n nick's for casual, southern comfort food and everyone is happy!!
