Early-closing bar, bad internet, but very comfy bed. I stayed at the Marriott Charleston during a conference. My room was very comfortable. The bed had just the right of firmness. The staff I encountered were nice, and the shuttle driver was extra-nice. As far as I'm concerned, the hotel has three cons: (1) the Internet doesn't work that well in terms of reliability and is often slow as frozen molasses, (2) Both of the hotel bars close early. I'm not much of a drinker, but I was with a large group of people who were guzzling beer, Baileys, and cocktails. Had Aqua Terrace stayed open till 2am, they would have made at least $500 more in sales. (3) The shuttle service stops at 10:30. My group barely made it back from dinner. When a large conference is booked, the hotel shuttle should be available later, especially as you have to pay for it - it's not complimentary.

Nice business location. I stay regularly at this hotel due to it's easy-to-get-to location from North Charleston or West Ashley and for the friendly staff. The front desk team is wonderful. In addition, the room service has a good wedge salad and small ribeye combination. It's always clean and the furnishings are comfortable. Only area for improvement is the concierge level breakfast that is weak compared to other Marriott properties, but the staff makes up for it.
