Poor management, decent service, average food, less than average value.
My wife and I have been there maybe 15 times (between the new and old location). The food is generally OK, not great, but not terrible. We go because they participate in discount coupons and we figure that the food is OK if we're paying half price. We wouldn't go if there without coupons because for the same price, we could do much better on the food.
My son and I went there tonight and ordered 2 orders of 20 wings. According to the menu, the wings are supposed to be huge (in our experence, they're only average size so we both needed more than basic 10 wings for a meal). The coupon they had said buy one menu item at full price and get the second free. So, if you order an item listed at 20 wings for approx $15, then it seems that a second order of 20 wings should be free. But, with no notice, it seems that they believe that no, that they only needed to give a credit for a 10 piece (in their estimation, a 10 piece is a meal...not the 20, no matter what the card says).
So, when I got the bill, I brought this to their attention, they said no, that it's not their policy and when I told them that I thought it was not right, the manager came over and asked me to calm down (keep in mind that I never raised my voice, never used foul language, never did anything offensive other than point out that they were changing the policy in the middle of the game). So, no problem, I paid the bill and left.
Athough I'm sure that I'm not the ideal customer (large bar bills, big spender on huge parties, etc), I know that they won't see us again.
The service tonight (besides the manager who was pretty unimpressive) was attentive - she asked if we needed anything maybe 4 times. I left a 20% tip (on the total value...not the sale value) because I believe in rewarding good service. The food was average and the whole event was below average.
For the best burger, ACs in Mt. Pleasant sems to be the best. For wings, we're back to Wild Wings, or Sticky Fingers.
Do not eat here!. I had the worst experience at this restaurant! I had never been to Buffalo South but had heard good thngs about the food. One night my wife and 2 of our friends decided to have dinner and drinks there. The wings were under cooked and red inside. When we asked if they could take them back and cook them longer the waitress rolled her eyes at us and said "They are all cooked this way". When the bill came the total was around $127. We decided to split the bill up. My wife and I paid with a $50 bill, my friend put down 3 $20 bills and his girlfriend put the remaining $17 on her credit card. When the waitress returned with the credit card receipt there was $57 dollar charged to it instead of $17. When questioned about this the waitress stated that we had only given her $70 and the credit card. The whole table saw how much money was actually paid. We asked to speak to a manager and we explained the situation. The manager apologized and "reversed" my friend's credit card. Over the next week or two my friend obtained her bank statement to find that Buffalo South had not only recharged her credit card but had also helped themselves to a $15 tip! When we took the credit card statement up to Buffalo South to confront the manager, the owner came out and told us that he did not believe us and that he was not going to do anything to rectify the credit card charge. He then informed us that he was told that we had pulled this "stunt" 3 times before and that we were to leave and never come back! Keep in mind, that it was our first time going to Buffalo South! Again, I urge you not to eat here. The customer is not right at this establishment and they STEAL your money!!
User review by monoville. My family and I have vacationed in the Charleston area three years in a row now. We found Buffalo South our first year, and LOVE the wings. The old place had more character, but that's all that changed with the move. We can't wait for our next trip!
